I don't know what is your browser, but with google just right click on that particular part of the screen, and you can make a choice to save, copy, download or blog that image or the whole page active..

There are also programs (I think Capture It, or Snip It, et al) that will do this. I think you can get a free version at Download.com

To Bmaster: a screen shot will include everything in your viewing area(i e your monitor/screen) for the picture as opposed to copy and paste which will select a specific picture or portion of text. This also includes a pic of your browser et cetera though. This is one way to snake a picture you like off the internet if it is copyrighted (but that is illeagal!Innocent). Also it is helpful if you cannot figure out how to get a correct format of something written, but need a copy. (do the screen shot and paste into a word document. Then crop and place just like a picture, and if needed print. You can also resize and add John Madden like circles and arrowsSmile)

What? it's not like he posted in the endgame forum or something...

Besides I'm willing to bet he's trying to capture a screenshot of a chess position

That right you never know that you might what to capture the whole screen rather than copy/paste. You will never know when you might need it. Sometime the staff ask for a screenshot because of a glitch is happening.

Im baffled. What is the point to go into a post called Screenshot, be surprised what it is about, and then post in the very post that made you put an Eye-rolling emoticon? Furthermore, does it please you that "we" validate that it is possibly chess related?

My goal since you criticized this post: made you look!Tongue out

You can press PrtScn, but you can also use programs like Snag It (for video capturing, website capturing etc. But my favourite is MW Snap!
