Server slow?

Since yesterday, I have the problem that the server seems to be noticeably slow. Connecting to any page here takes at least 10 seconds (once it does connect, loading speed seems ok though). Anybody else experiencing this? I'm not sure whether the problem is somehow on my end, but I seem to have no issues with other sites I visit. I disabled my popup blocker for chess.com, so that shouldn't be it.

It's not your PC or connection, it is the site. Today, symptoms started at 8pm London time.

So far, 72 minutes of slow page changes.

Thanks, good to know. I hope this is resolved soon, though, as it is quite a "drag" ...

Any update on this situation? Am in the UK right now, and experiencing pretty bad lag that started around the same time yours did. The only recent change to my system was the Firefox 10 update the other day; not sure if this is related.

Same problem in U.S. and I haven't updated my Firefox lately. This has been happening to me the last few days. It lasts for several hours and then seems to clear up only to return the next day. Currently, lag is significant.

OK, it's not just me then - been taking a long time to refresh pages (online games and TT), and the server even logged me out spontaneously once.

Well, at least that gives me something else to ask BorgQueen about... Smile

Wow, how do you know this?  Is there some way to look it up (or are you just really really diligent)?

Understandable - I don't function very well when I get hammered, either.
