I have seen the login problem for a long time. It happens quite frequently when I try to log in. The first time I get taken back to the login screen again. The second time, it works fine.

I have also had the same problem.  The only way it will work on the first try is if you let the page completely load before you hit the login button.

For me it is WWW.chess.com and I hit the login box on the middle right side - if I login wrong on purpose I always get in on the second try and it switches to a different screen with an error.

If I use my real login it returned me to the same page and just left me unlogged.

so I just went directly to www.chess.com/login.html and got right in on the first try.

Seems like an easy enough workaround to bypass the home page.
