Dear Erik,
Just an idea that I have. Would you be agreeable to say time controls for all moves?
For example if each player has 30 days for all moves, each player needs to make all their moves within those 30 days.
The good point is that we know in advance when the game will end - maximum of 60 days. And it could support fast players, say 15 days for all moves. Then the game will take max of 30 days to finish.
For vacation, say if I take 20 days vacation then those 20 days will not be counted. That means 20 days will not be deducted if I have 30 days for all moves.
What do you say? Is it easy to implement? Do other people want this feature? If no people wants this then don't waste your time on this.
What do ppl think
This might however be a good approach to the matter of losing players delaying the end of the game through taking undue advantage of the relaxed time controls. Players could agree beforehand on the maximum number of days in addition to the maximum days per move.
