I have several laptops and two of them are running Windows 7. Neither one of them has a problem playing live chess, but the sound doesn't work. On the Windows XP computer, which also runs Red Hat Linux and Fedora Linux, the sound works fine in all three operating systems. The last system runs Windows Server 2003. It also has sound when playing. So in short, it seems the Live chess client isn't fully compatible with Windows 7. I'm not sure why.

Are you running FlashBlock in Firefox? If so, you'll have to whitelist Chess.com for sound to work in Live Chess.
I'm using IE, not Firefox.

Just installed Windows 7 and now no sound with live chess---has this been solved?
No it hasn't been solved I don't think. I have two computers, both with Windows 7, and sound works on one of them, but not the other. It seems to be a bug.

I have Windows 7 64-bit and I have no sound at all in Firefox 7, but sounds works well in Internet Explorer 9.
I have solved my problem in Firefox: if you are using Flashblock, you have to whitelist *.chess.com instead of www.chess.com
