can someone either give me the definition of stalemate bcuz i was playing a guy and all he had left was his king and he wouldve had to move it and it wouldve been checkmate so clearly it should be my win. its friggen stupid and i wanna kno how the hell that works. please

Stalemate is when your opponent ISN'T on check, and he can't move any pieces, including his king, for example something like this:
