Starting position?

Forgive me, but I have not been on chess.com in about 12 days and would like to know what the new Starting position feature is about, when you are creating a game.

I've never used it but I'd assume that they set up the board to how it would look after the choosen opening.

That doesn't sound fair. If you played the game out, you might not be able to get to thet particular opening.

why wouldn't it be fair? If the other player don't agree he doesn't have to join the game.

starting position allows people to agree on a set of opening moves and start from there! it is for those who like to play themed games.

unless i liked the theme, i wouldnt play. seems to me that its more a friend thing, i wouldnt like playing a kalashnikov when i dont play the sicilian
