Hi!
When you go to the "Start new game" -page in online chess, and want to start a thematic game, should the board at the right-hand side of the page show the position the game starts from when you choose the opening from the drop-down menu? With me, when I click on an opening (like B02: Alekhine's Defence) the board stays at the normal starting position. I find this very frustrating, because many of the openings have names unfamiliar to me, and some are so offbeat variations that the names aren't even official. Thus I can't know the position the game starts from. Another bad thing is that even after submitting the seek, I am able to find no way to get a similar view of my seek as I get when I view other people's seeks (it shows the board with the starting position [+ other info] then).
Could someone please help me? If the situation really is like this, that you don't know the starting position before somebody really accepts your seek and the game starts, I think some improvement should be made. However, I hope this is not the case.
