Hey,

I have recently rebuilt (format etc) my system and I am having some troubles at chess.com.

Problem A

VERY often, I hit refresh (F5 or the button) and the screen I get from chess.com looks like there is no CSS applied.

Everything is left alingned, the menus are a bulleted list... I have to scroll down past the menus to get the mess which should be my page.

Reloading the page usually corrects this and it doesn't happen as often as problem B.  Perhaps 1 in 10 page loads (and it seems to be decreasing now).

Problem B

Also, about 50% of the time (or higher), after reloading the page, I get missing pieces on my board like so:

Yes, there is meant to be a white king.  And about 3 black pawns.

So then I have to SHIFT-Reload the page.  This normally works, unless I get problem A again (no style)... if I get that I have to refresh again which usually results in the pieces missing again, it gets kinda annoying as you might imagine.

Now I realise it's probably something at my end since I have just recently formatted but I was hoping there might be some clues that you could give me as to where to look to solve this annoying problem set.

Using Windows XP, SP3 and FireFox 3.5.3.   I have NoScript, but I am allowing chess.com and chesscomfiles.com to run script.

Thanks for considering :)

something clearly wrong. try with a default browser install and then add back your addons and plugins one at a time.

Update:

I didn't get the chance to try that erik... both the problems seems to have disappeared today.   I am currently holding prayer vigils to keep the evil sprits out of my browser.

Translation: In my game against emiguela I'm unable to capture my opponents queen with my own. The cursor will not move.

Come on, that was not bad for someone who does not even speak Dutch....Foot in mouth

I'd love to learn a language like that.  Interesting to know that Dutch and Afrikaans are similar languages :)
