If I belong to both teams that are playing a match, can I choose sides or am I not permitted to compete?

    Thank you,

You are not allowed to take part in the match.

Thanks for the replay.  Would you know the reason behind that decision?  I think it would be easier to let the user to choose the side he/she wants to play for, no?

If someone knows the answer for sure, please post - I am in the same situation right now and cannot join my own match!

We had a few instances of abuse with this where someone would join an opposing team, get into matches, and then resign their games or throw their games so the team they were actually loyal to would win. Because of this abuse, we no longer allow people to choose a side for team matches if they are members of both teams.

Any chance of an exception?  In this case, the team I want to join is one that I started, is very small (4 members) and consists only of personal friends of mine... alternatively, if I were to leave the other team, would I be able to join the match, or would it need to be restarted?

You can leave the other team and join the match.
