Timer issues in Quick Chess

Today, I played a guy who managed to make 15 moves in 3 seconds.

I took a more reasonable 21 secs to make the same moves.

I play quick chess pretty quick, and perhaps I wasn't playing as quickly as him, but it seems the timer is broken...

    Any thoughts?

For one thing, as the disclaimer reads, live chess is not perfect - errors and glitches occur. Secondly, it could be the lag offset rewarding the opponent more time due to a bad connection or a long distance, or other issues.

    I'm cool with the glitches.

This just seemed WAY out there, that's all. I thought something fishy might be up...

This always happens. It isn't a glitch, it is premove, look it up!

It's probably the bonus time.  I have added as much as a minute to my clock by moving extremely quickly during an end game.  You may not notice a one second bonus if you take one and a half seconds to move.  But if you move in a tenth of a second, you are actually adding time to your clock.

Sometimes a premove takes no time. Sometimes it takes a few seconds. And if a premove fails, you need to wait a few more seconds in order to reselect a piece.

I myself am fed up with the current Live Chess. It may be an interesting experience for those of you who have never played blitz chess online, but I'm going to wait for the improvements that have been promised for the past six months I've been here. Ratings will be wiped anyway - if and when the stable version is published.

That should be very interesting. Everyone on chess.com will slug it out at the 1200s.
