Is there a way to turn off alerts about tournaments/vote chess games from groups I belong to without turning off all alerts from the group? I'm getting a lot of tournament alerts that I just end up deleting, but I would like to know when there is activity in group forums, etc. Thanks.

No, unfortunately this is not possible at this time. The only thing you would be able to do is turn off all group alerts at http://www.chess.com/home/alerts.html

However, your idea to have specific group alert settings within groups you are in is a good idea and it will be considered for the future.
