I'm thinking about re-upgrading to platinum membership, but there's one thing I need to check first.  The ads will go away on my android app too right?

No that's not a big deal.  They have video ads now on the phone app.  I hate to reward a "sticks" instead of "carrots" method of getting me to upgrade, but you've gotta do what you've gotta do.
