I only escalated it to urgent in the last day because there was no response for three days. And still no acknowledgement other than the original auto-reply. Its just answering a few questions, staff. I could spam them in here but I want reliable answers w/o all the irrelevant advice. Tix # 180876. My account expires w/i 24 hrs and it sure would be nice to know how to handle stuff before I can renew the membership.

    Dear Chess.com Staff:

I have several questions as to what I may expect if/when I temporarily lose my premium status.

Due to personal financial consideration, I may not be able to renew my premium payment byt the time my current status expires (it could be another month or so after the January 15th date).

    So here are my questions:

    SuperAdmin:
Is it still the case that non-premium members can't be SuperAdmins to groups or are is there a granfathered-in clause (i.e. if you were a SuperAdmin before premium was lost, you are not "stripped" of the rank)? I'm assuming if one is stripped of rank, that if you regain premium status, you'll have to be re-promoted (i.e. I should appoint a "Dowager/Viceroy Admin" for the interim)?

    Themes:
I have several personalized themes - some used for groups I administer - what happens to them? If later I pay again to regain my premium status, are those themes accessible again, or will they have to be recreated? If a Group is using the theme, will it stay the same unless reset by a SuperAdmin?

    Email:
What if someone tries to send to the writch@chess.com I have now? Will it me closed/deleted in the interim?

Thanks in advance for your replies. Again, I am hoping this will only be a temporary situation and I'm not looking for exceptions, just answers so that I know how to prepare.

    Kind Regards,
    Rich

I don't think I/it needed to go all the way to erik on this one though - if I will have had trouble with some of those issues after I renew, and they could have been avoided if answered and were not, then it may seem fair to escalate.

That's why I went here first to give one of them a chance to recover a potential fumble.

OK well with regards to the SA status you will stay as super admin unless you leave the group then you will only be able to be admin (until such time you become subscribed again)

I don't know about the themes sorry

And email no your emails won't be deleted you should still be able to access them in the same way

    Yo, I'm sorry

It just ruffled my feathers a bit knowing you needed the help asa and I wanted to contribute to have some speedy reaction, that you would be given everything you needed for information when renewing your account. =3
