I'm just curious how it's possible for a player to have some games in vacation mode and some games on waiting (or active?) status?

Um .. let me expand on that a bit.

How is it possible for a player who activated vacation mode also have games that are in waiting status?  I've never used vacation mode, but I thought it turned all of your games into vacation status.

There are a couple of things to be aware of here:

1. If a premium member gets low on time (about an hour or so left) they automatically go into vacation mode. It's one of the features you get when you pay.

2. If a non-premium member goes makes a move in all of their games, then goes into vacation mode (the "proper" way to do it) -- then I think that the games are listed as in "waiting" status, until it is their turn.

I think that "vacation" is a mode which is kind of a replacement for "my turn", but "waiting" is not affected.

Does that make sense?

** end of quote **

When a player invokes vacation the status of games where it is the opponent's turn remains "Waiting" for that opponent's move.  The opponent's clock keeps running down until a move or timeout. If the opponent moves the status changes to 'Vacation".
