I just spent about 2 hours analyzing and entering a game I played otb without recording it in a post.  When I finished and clicked submit it went to a blank message thing (It also mentioned something about tips for posting).

At any rate I am not happy spending all that time analyzing and having my work deleted.  I wonder if there is some way the message could have been received or if maybe I accidentally clicked save and preview(In that case how would I find it).  I also suggest that maybe if there is something wrong with a post instead of deleting it just going back to the post with the original text and figures but pointing out what is wrong with it.

This isn't the first time  a lot of my hard work (in this case on one of my favorite games, which I couldn't remember correctly later) has been destroyed

It might be worth looking into an external tool to create your fully annotated PGNs and then just using them to upload into the game boards here.

I'm sure they're out there but I can't say what they are -- any suggestions?

It's actually better to do this kind of thing in a game editing program or word processor of some kind. This kind of thing is common of internet programs that allow you to insert mass amounts of text. Sometimes they freeze and you lose your data. I once lost a 500 word essay that way.

Yeah, I do have scid.  But, I was just coming here because I could input the game and get suggestions as well.  Unfortunately this might be a learning experience and I might just have to put my games in there before I try anything here.

Oh, and it wasn't that it froze up on me.  It just didn't post for some reason.  I got through all of it clicked submit and it went back to that blank message page I described earlier

once finished copy and paste all text and diagrams into a new post and then if it does get deleted at least you still have it all in another ready to submit box.  Going back a page can work sometimes also
