This topic may have been posted before but why can I sometimes see the vote count in vote chess games? I think this might lead to players picking a move that is leading in the count but is not the best. Thanks

I suppose that can happen, but vote chess is more about team work than popularity contest. If most people on your team are voting for the early favorite without reading lines your team is obviously doomed.

But i think the vote is visible to give you an idea of what people are thinking. I just did my first vote chess, and normally i would start working on the lines of the voted on moves (you'd assume they'd have some positive value). Unfortunatley few people are involved in the discussion, so the voting is actually a source of information.

I usually read what the masters think is best and worst and while they have different opinions I find a move I think is best and see if any masters think it's okay too as well.
