    the games are timed, so if you use up your time the game is over and you either lose or draw depending on what pieces your opponent has.  for correspondance chess you have so many days to make a move.  if you don't then you lose.

    Time out means if you're referrign to chess is when you've the timer with your opponent and if yours ticks or opponent ticks, the time ran out. THe game is over depending which points were highest wins.

    Time out can also mean a break.Laughing
