i love chess.com, and have had lots of fun. i closed my old account because i thought it would fix my problems related to no board in live chess, game archive that stopped working and when i try to see forum inserted games, the games take forever to load or dont load at all. im in desperate need of some help because i learned alot from this site, but i cant get any help.

You definitely shouldn't leave. I'm not a troubleshooting expert, but I can offer some advice. The #1 problem with the site is that it doesn't run so smoothly with Internet Explorer. Try downloading Mozilla Firefox if you are using IE right now. It could help a lot. I believe that internet connection could be another problem. I don't know how good your internet connection is, but it needs to be good to work well with live chess and this site in general. It should also be noted that live chess has significant problems and may not work regardless. A new version is on the way! =D Finally, I believe that certain operating systems don't function as well with the site. I am not, however, sure which ones specifically don't work.

This is actually the first time I've heard of problems like the ones that you are experiencing, and I can say that the site runs VERY well for me. Must be you.Tongue out Seriously though, good luck trying to solve the issues - in the end, it'll be worth it for this amazing site!!

I have had absolutey no problems here.  Using firefix has made all the difference in the world on live chess.  I hardy see ay popups in general when im on the site.

Is your computer hardware and software reasonably capable? Are you playing at high demand times. Is your computer close to locking up because of information overload?

How fast is your internet connection?  It sounds like you are having trouble downloading the graphics on the site.

Don't leave this site.  Erik and the staff are coming up with a new and improved live chess.  Maybe you won't have nearly the problems.

Does the same error come up in both browsers?  Have you done a file scan with Norton?  Have you tried shutting off Norton's realtime protection?

If Firefox shows the same error even after a fresh install, it must be a bug in the encoding.  You are on a Mac, are you?  Perhaps Firefox implements code differently on Windows and Macs.
