any changes in live chess rating?

I play a lot of live chess, and usually im around 1300-1500 in bullet games. The thing is as of last week my rating reached 1700 and climbing and winning games to at least three 1900+- players and this has puzzled me a lot.

i dont think i got that good recently, so, has anyone experienced something like this lately?

Were any changes made the last few weeks in the terms of rating or something?

    Any comments welcome

    cheers

I'm in the 1700 too, for the first time (I used to be well above 1500). Could someone explain how they were increased? First of all, one needs to win, lol!

It seems I'm still getting the same points for winning or loosing...odd indeed.

The only other comment I could make is that some of the players I managed to defeat did not seem to justify their own scores.

..... and others will say the same about me too(!)... how could I justify 1700, lol.

There is an explanation, have a look at this Forum. Kohai, Chess.com staff reports that the ratings were indeed 'adjusted'.

Thanks CarVilla, it seems there is a logical explanation.
