Although 3.e3 b5? is a mistake, surprisingly 3.e4 b5?! is not so bad. Even very strong players like Kramnik, Sokolov, and Miles have given it a go.

And if anyone suspects cheating, don't accuse or resign, just report it to chess.com since they have the expertise to sort out the honest from the cheaters.

(But you generally have to play more than 5 moves to know!)

feyterman> show me a good example where black actually came off much better

I replaced the example game with one where Black triumphed. Even so, it's not a great line... but it's playable at the GM level. I think it's interesting because most people who have seen 3.e3 b5? crushed assume it's the same with 3.e4 b5?! but it's actually not so bad.

Personally, I don't prefer 3.e4 because of Black's sharp replies. Black really should not come out better if he tries to protect the pawn.

Black isn't lost after 12...Nc6, but he is uncomfortable.

[Edit]: Looking back at this, White can improve with 12.Bc4.

ZOMG?  ONLY A COMPUTER CAN GET REASONABLE PLAY (well in this case better) WITH B5 IN A QGA!  HE WUZ RIGHT.

Seriously, its like when i used my haxor skill playing the ruy lopez morphy main with 5. 0-0.  I cheated and refuted a Nxe4 - d4 - exd4?! riga variation.

Sigh, I wish I could get accused of cheating in blitz however, it would make me happy, as my blitz rating is abysmal compared to OTB/corrospondance.

I'm not sure if people pay attention that well in blitz. The first moves are from the book and after that it gets crazy.
