erik has said in previous threads regarding live chess:

that's where reading comes in handy :)

PLEASE READ BEFORE PLAYING

DO NOT USE LIVE CHESS unless you understand that it is very new and unstable. You WILL be disconnected randomly. You WILL experience lag. You WILL be disappointed if you expect anything else. :)

We are working really hard on making Live Chess as fast, stable, and amazing as possible. In the mean time, please be patient!

For the BEST EXPERIENCE on Live Chess we recommend using FireFox or Safari browsers (as Internet Explorer has some issues).

Also, make sure you don't overlook that last paragraph. NOT using IE to access Live Chess makes a very big difference.

The main reason you get disconnected in live chess is that your opponent is losing.  It never seems to happen when the other player is winning.  But if they are losing, suddenly we are disconnected.

They disconnect intentionally when they are losing because they are a bunch of c**********t cowards.  Disconnects are a big problem in live chess.  I hate live chess because of people like that.  I only play live chess when it is agreed that if one party disconnects, it is an automatic forfeit, regardless of the reason for the disconnect!

erm yeah, if you get disconnected, or disconnect, you lose.  Same goes for your opponent...

Bad for me since my connection is always dropping.

if live chess isn't working for you, i recommend you first try upgrading to FIREFOX 3. if that doesn't help, then don't try live chess for a few more weeks :) i know it is frustrating to lose on disconnect. and it's frustrating for us too. if it were easy, trust me - we would have it fixed by now :)

I have Firefox and Live Chess works perfectly, I rarely get disconnected. I applaud the staff for their hard work and hope that they can make it better for other people.
