Someone mentioned that I should report the bugs so that they can fix them.  Well, I thought I would let you know how often this disconnect problem occurs for me.  I am disconnected at least 5 times a game.

I have recently started playing and have lost 3 games because of connection problems.  What happens in these games is that I am not told I am disconnected and it appears to be my competitors turn.  Finally my competitor runs out of time and I am told that I lost.  I then go to my game history and see that I lost because I was disconnected or because I ran out of time.

I do like many things about live chess.  I keep looking for a better one that won't have these disconnect problems, but the online sites require a fee or the are missing a lot of features that i would like.  I keep coming back to this site hoping that the disconnect problems will go away.

I'm patient and understanding and all that, but it's really frustrating.  I just lost a won game (both materially and positionally) for this reason.  How soon is "soon"?

It looks like they have upgraded live chess.  I guess it is version 3.  I am still having the same disconnect problems.  They occur just as often as before.

I definitely understand how annoying this can be.  I was just on an 8 game win streak and lost because of a disconnect.  Would have been my 9th game won in a row seeing as though my very next move was a smothered mate.

These disconnects are the only reason that I cannot and will not sign up for a membership.

If I lose to an opponent because he/she played a better game than me, great.  I'll be glad to lose points and take the loss in my history.  But, if my records get shot because of something like a disconnect...

It's no wonder most people enjoy a game of chess face to face with an opponent rather than over the internet.

Its not only annoying is pure bullshit, going for the check mate until you get disconnected and you lose in the end after dominating the game. Its amazing how they charge for "premium" membership and games are unplayable.

Chess.com developers,

Often when playing you can tell that you are disconnected.  Could you add a refresh/re-login/re-connect button?

I have discovered a few things about the disconnects.  First I discovered that they do not happen if I am plugged in to the network with my ethernet cable.  So I assume it has something to do with my Wireless connection.  Also, just a few days ago, I upgraded from Windows Vista to Windows 7 and the problems appear to have gone away even when I am using my wireless connection.

I too have been disconnected twice and lost points. It does seem unfair that

this should happen. Will someone from chess.com please reply

I think theres already too many threads about these.

What patzer24 says -

Please note that the Live Chess is one of the top concerns for our development team and they are working very hard to improve the connection and stability in the Live Chess.

In the mean time I would recommend that you take a look at the http://www.chess.com/echess/ as you should be able to play chess here without any interruptions.

The few disconnections during live chess games that I've had didn't last long. I was reconnected and able to continue the games.
