    i posted it somewhere else

danailov is topalov's boss for 20 years in the contract. topalov had no choice cuz he was a poor kid at that time. to danailov, topalov is just a gold mine; to invest money and get more out of it. danailov gets 80% of the winnings (prize money) and its a locked contract. i'm not here to prove myself right but- seriously reading the news is gonna get you like 30% of the truth. knowing the important guys gets you 80%.

i can already imagine your counter-where's your credible source of proof? well if its important, i won't even mention it. proving myself right doesn't gain me any money nor will you believe me...soo...

Kevin Spraggett, who is less circumspect concerning his sources, says that Danailov gets 50%. In any case, the disrepute into which he brought Topalov should have been cause enough, if Topalov had strong ethics concerning sportmanship, to sever the relationship.

locked contracts cannot be broken. there should be some bond between the guys after 20 years. they work as a team and decide how to say things. i'm guessing here-i think that topalov and danailov agreed to make the move. it worked quite well; a losing topalov made it 6-6.

regarding the percentages, 80% seems much more logical if you were thinking from danailov's shoes from an investment point of view. (gaining maximum money while leaving topalov with just enough). i didn't read what kevin spraggett  wrote(nor do i know who he is).

I'm certain that a good attorney could demonstrate that Danailov's behavior violated the terms of the contract.

That you don't know Kevin Spraggett is a sure indication of the strength of your much vaunted connections. You obviously know a great deal about the world of chess at the top levels.

he's one gm of like 2k in the world. he isn't 2700+. i've only heard of his name before; thats about it. why would i build a connection with him? he's no champion or anything.

your profile pic may seem like you are very mature and knowledgeable, but you still seem like a baby in terms of reality.

and i've wrote in my previous post anyway that topalov and danailov probably plotted the move TOGETHER. i doubt a contract will write- no using dirty tricks 20 years later if topalov reaches world championship.

The number of living GMs is closer to 1300. Among those, Spraggett has distinguished himself, especially for Canadians. Are there even six Canadian GMs?

Yes, they probably plotted it together. There are many reasons that Topalov would not fire Danailov, most especially that he approves of the man's lack of ethics.

I found a better chess rating estimator on chessarea.com. It isn't the same problems over and over again. It also isn't just "what's the best move" questions. It also isn't just tactical questions. The level of questions change too. Also, even a chess master will not be able to get all of them right because of difficulty, so it even works if you are highly rated.

The chessmaniac one is of course inaccurate -- I got like 2106 while I think my strength is a few hundred points below that. But it was a better test than the other one. Fun puzzles.

The chessarea one is utter rubbish.

"You obtained 3 points out of 15, in 23 hours, 41 minutes, 26 seconds
     Your level is: beginner"

Well that is three wrongs there. I had 9-10 answers scored "correct", i spent maybe 1h, and I am not a beginner.

The benefit of the chessarea test is that it explains the answers in a decent way when you fail. But it will not estimate your chess skill, it tries to sell you chess lessons.
