This needs serious action to fix the bugs of disconnection. To certain extent disconnection is acceptable, provided when reconnected it offers to continue the game being played; otherwise its really disappointing - one will have to give a thought to seriously playing or subscribing or upgrading the account.
mosqutip
Might not be server-side. I never have connection problems on live chess (at least here, I do on Yahoo!)
BladeRunner
What browser are you using? If you are using IE you should give Firefox a try. I had the same problem, but since I started using Firefox I've never had any problems.
TAGLARRY
Firefox is much better but I still disconnect one game out of every 10.
Earlier I was using IE, then - as it was mentioned Fixfox is better optimized with chess.com I resorted to Firefox - but - disconnection is something inevitable
Nytik
I have recieved 0 disconnections with Google Chrome. (What will those wacky inventors think of next? )

I USE INTERNET EXPLORER UNTIL I HAVE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS ON MY VERY
FIRST MOVE PICKING A PIECE AND IT MOVES 3 SPACES BACK OFF THE BACK OF
THE BOARD
AND SINCE CHRISTMAS I MUST HAVE LOST 400 POINTS ON LONG AND BLITZ
GAMES ON LIVE CHESS AND LOST 100 WINS OFF MY RECORD ON
DISCONNECTIONS
AND IF I USE FIREFOX I HAVE 100 PERCENT DISCONNECTIONS WITHIN 10 MOVES
SO I REFUSE TO PLAY ON FIREFOX ANYMORE

I use the latest edition of Firefox, its not the browser... its a server issue and I agree with qfriend. If the server goes down you should be able to resume your game. I was just a few moves away from a checkmate and the entire server went down, not my browser. Its as frustrating as if someone came along during an OTB game and wiped the pieces from the board.

This has been said many many times, but I guess it bears repeating again. We're working on a new version of Live Chess that will correct these issues. We're sorry, we released the old version too early, but the new one will be much much better.
I understand, you even have it posted on the Live Chess home page, but is there a way to temporarily save games when the server crashes? Either that or consider suspending the ratings on Live Chess... & yes whille chess is first and foremost fun, its that immediate point of frustration that strikes when you've played a good game and you're robbed of the satisfaction of the finale. One thing I personally appreciate is that this site listens and responds quickly and kindly.
