I'm finding more and more folks are bad mouthing and being generally unpleasant on this website..
Today I've been sworn at (minus vowels) for beating someone twice, then they beat me twice and then there was a torrent of abuse, and just now I was called a loser and cheat on my homepage when the server crashed and I was just about to be checkmated.. I understand the frustration, but surely there is no need for this stuff?
Might be just today.. but comments welcome

It's just you. Nothing personal. Goes with the territory, unfortunately.
If you like wild humor (or derping at your expense), there's no shortage of that either.
It flows like a river on this site.
Ask a dumb question, and 50 humorous posts will pop up, rather quickly.
Great entertainment. Just look past the insults, and enjoy.
might go the with the territory but shouldn't - thats my point
there's no skill, humour or whit in taking the vowels out of ' fck y, y fckng lcky bstard'
I think folks need to grow up a little

Report them & get their a/c closed.
Are only going to do the same to others so better if they're kicked-out fast.

Probably a little bit of both: everybody's getting angrier at you.

Some people take losing at chess way too personally. When you add onto that never accepting responsibility (and sometimes alcohol), you get that kind of response. I think there's no shame at all in losing a well-played game, and if I get crushed, I look to see where I messed up. If I blunder, I blame myself

Dogs can get away with that and be called "adorable." Gotta love man's best friend lol
Yes, in correspondence chess, insults/hostility take the form of dragging out a lost game for three months lol
Yep. Alcohol was mentioned. Get a comfy-jacket for your chilled-beer (Aussies know this!) & cool the ire.
In my beer-drinking days, I drank them so fast I didn't need those lol
I think they called them "coozies" where I'm from, but am probably misspelling the word
In Australia is so hot beer goes cold quickly! Hence needed. :-)
''Stubbies'' think they called? (as opposed to pints)
Great point; was never excessively hot around these parts. Plus, I usually drank indoors
