sometimes I go over to uchess.com to play blitz when the lag over here gets to be too much. The interface here on chess.com is WAY better, but uchess.com doesn't seem to have the lag problems.
Does anybody else here also play on uchess.com? If so, I'm wondering what y'all think about the relative strengths of the players on the two sites. My rating is generally much lower there, 'cause I think that the players there are stronger, on average. Right now my blitz rating is only 70 points higher on chess.com, but usually the spread is more like 200 points. But maybe others have a different opinion?

Really? Is it uncool to talk about the competition?
I wasn't trashing chess.com or shilling for uchess. In fact I said that chess.com is better (except for the well-known lag problems).
If I've violated etiquette, mea culpa!

I had been a player for a LONG time over at uChess.com. I loved the site, and played there excessively for a very long time. In probably 4 years time I had racked up 19,443 games with a pretty good win percentage and decent ranking/rating ~1830ish. 95% of my games were 1min blitz games which helps explain the abnormally high number of games.
Not once in 4 years have I ever cheated over on uChess. People I played on a regular basis can attest to that. However, I apparently made the mistake of playing someone top 20 on the site maybe somewhere around 12-15 games in a row. I managed 1 win, and several very close games that came down to the wire and just got manhandled in some of the games. Well, apparently even though I played 19,400 some plus odd games without ever (honestly NOT cheating) and never been reported for cheating or had association with it... the mere fact I played someone named Purple Lotus...according to ChessWizardry... "more than 4 times in a day" I was told I was cheating and my account banned forever from the site. I thought it was the most insane ridiculous thing, and I kind of have a bad taste in my mouth from the experience. I would certainly understand if I was cheating, and if I had played the person 30-100 games in a row and resigned after a few moves or was playing noticeably stupid or anything out of the ordinary... but anyways, I was kind of upset about being banned because I thought wouldn't find a site comparable. but, having played a few games here this evening and reading some posts on the site I am optimistic I too will find this site to be superior to uChess.
