We are working on improving the Live Chess and making the connection more stable. Please have some patience with us as the Live Chess is a work in progress.  Smile

Its in beta stage... u should expect problems. Because if their wern't any problems it wouldnt be in beta stage. Chess.com has delivered time after time, you have the tactics trainer and game explorer that are just unbelivable. Let them do their magic and im sure no one will be disapointed.

I absolutely fail to understand people complaining about the live chess. For the first: its  amazing, end the story. I mean, the few glitches and stuff is not nearly enough to ruin the experience for me or for the 100-200 other people playing at any given time. some people just live to complain. let them do that, just dont let them bother the rest of us. For the second: If you dont like the live chess, why are you here??? what would this homepage be without live playing? I mean, forums and articles and all that stuff is all fine but chess is about playing for me and for most other people. For me it feels like the whole internet was created for the sake of live games like chess. To play people from all over the world on your computer like that, amazing. Personally I think the live chess on this site has worked out really well. It should be like the flagship of the site, the main reason to go here. As for the tecnical problems I suggest anyone having problems to change the internetbrowser into one of the two that is recommended. I changed it and it made a big difference. Much less problems with firefox compared to Explorer.

The disconnections make it better.  Its like a wild card.  When you're losing, you can play slowly, hoping your opponent will be disconnected.  Just like the pros do.  I think thats how Lasker won the world championship.

If people don't provide feedback then the site owners will never know why people don't play.  Speaking for myself, as a paying member who loves chess.com, I am here because of Tactics Trainer, these forums, and the turn-based chess. I will not use Live Chess because it's simply too slow of an interface compared to other online realtime chess servers.  It certainly is quite a feat of JavaScript programming, but it's still IMO not usable.

What *I* absolutely fail to understand is why people who think the site is amazing don't support it by becoming members.

Sure there are problems with live chess, but this site continues to blow every other internet chess site I've tried using out of the water.  Even when I lose 100+ ratings points by getting disconnected.

i like the live chess.  i live in an area with no chessplayers, so if it was not for the live chess, i wouldn't be playing with people at all.

i don't care if my rating goes up and down a couple hundred points a night.  it probably would anyway...

lotsoblots, i am truely working on it. I was gonna use my money from my stimulus check but I didn't get it because im a dependent (even though I recieved a letter from the IRS saying i will be getting one >=(...). I will be getting a membership as soon as i can, not only for the features such as tactics trainer and game explore but to help support the website and the cummunity.

No need to explain yourself to me, deadpoetic.   My comment really was just sarcasm directed at Aljeshin who was questioning why a Platinum member was here.  Money mouth
