They can remove you, or completely turn off the notification in their settings.

Do you have any signs on your end that you're logging in and out repeatedly?
So, apparently i'm showing up in friends' screens as logging in and out in a spamming manner, which is out of my control. Perhaps it's a internet thing but how can I fix it? Thanks.
Some fella unfriend me because of this reason, my name kept spamming his games, lol.
