loss of connection

many of the games i have been playing, often in a winning position have been interrupted due to loss of connection, mostly by my opponent, occasionally at my end. whatever the case,i finish up either losing on time,or game is abandoned while i am trying to rectify the problem. i find this unacceptable, and hardly worth starting a game. i dont mind losing fair and square, but this is nonsense. is ther anyway to overcome this problem?

The games  I  needed to win were lost on time...this makes me fish out and play more for position and tactics than winning since i feel i lose on time anyway.I would have won 3 games in the sicilian and be in the top if it wasnt for the timeout problem....

i take the points made by jetzen and waroo. i think the problem must be with chess com,as i dont have connection problems with any other sites. if they ccant make it a viable option to play real chess, tney could at least give the time for the problem to be overcome without abandonment or loss on time. i think i am talking to thin air however,as whoever runs the site seems to be struck dumb when any problem arises

I have been restricted live play and rason given was because I have disconnected or viloated teh fair rules policy. The message also tol me that I have to play with "friends", (which I have none as I am new) in order to gain my fair play raitings inorder to get back to live playing.

As I said I have not disconnected or violated any policies, so how do I get myself back to playing live chess?

Any help will be appreciated.

That's a great lesson. My internet connection is unstable and get disconnections from time to time. Every time before I play, I double check if the internet connection reach certain standards.

I have had this issue too, but its my connection I am sure. I have lost a bunch of games due to being interupted.

well for instance i was in a tornado and power was out for 2 weeks in march and when you call these people they are very slow and neanderthal on there e-mail but they sure want you too pay up too be a member,i think paying members should get some slack in winning positions when there not timing out  because of bad position but do to weather or deaths in the family...or illness...on the plus side they do seem to be working hard to upgrade the system and maybe they can get the bugs out..
