I was playing in live chess, and my oponent ran out of time, so the clock when to zero, I waited, nothing happened, abuot 1 minute later stil nothign had happened no messages and I get a message saying I have been disconnected, and the game says I quit, I don't mind the beign disconencted bit but I should have won the game way before it chucked me off but the end of timer alert didn't go off.

    hello m

    i would be mad!!!

    if that happened to me

in fact it did happen to me too

maybe its some with the time lag on your side

the program compensates for poor connetion and gives extra time

It has also happened to me, sometimes you loose connection for a second and that is what causes the game to stop and after a few moment you get disconnected, it has sometime to do with the time lag too

is it just me.. or is live chess disconnection getting worse?

yesterday and today i am getting disconnected almost every second game. consequently, my points depleting down to where it started... 1200. lol.

perhaps I have to forego playing live chess for the next couple of months!

madnessred, i had the same experiences.. in at least 3 games i remember. i already won but nothing happens. then i got disconnected, and the win became a loss... hah! i guess, there is such a thing as negative win points.

    1.  Chess.com is beta.  Everybody relax

    2.  The screen shot says you were using google chrome.  I love google too but you should use Firefox for this site.

I agree, I use firefox for everything and have only lost of my own accord, never because of a site problem.

ALL:    Livechess is that way, nothing can be done about that as of right now.

Erik has his team working very hard on a new 'live-chess' and when it is fully tested, the bugs wrung out of it, and operational as well as stable - and without the bugs in the current edition, he will install and cut over to the new live-chess.  until then either play turn based, or put up with the occasional problems.

[p.s. if you are any good, you won't care if you drop a game once in a while, it merely means your rating is lower, so you take more points from those you face as you win more games then.]   let's not get hung up on ratings - let's all play chess to have fun and do something different - for each of us.

for live chess, points not important.. just disappointed not seeing how the opponent would have extricated itself from certain defeat.
