While in live chess all my "a" key does is cycle through all the clickable objects on screen. Makes it a little tricky to have a conversation without using "a".

Is this a known problem? Had no luck searching for a solution.

well you not the only one :-) my 'y' key isn't working well, I just put up with it.  

Hold down the Alt key then enter numerics 97  (then let go of keys)

Yup, only live chess denies me the use of my "a" key. Actually went and tried using TAB to type an "a". Didn't work but stranger things have happened :)

That works everywhere but in live  :/ Wherefore art thou "a" key? :/

Hmmm, it appears I can't use any ALT codes at all in live chess chat. Might point to a solution for all those tech savvy people out there?

Tht is  very interesting problem to hve no '' key very esily.

If Kohi's solution doesn't work, then it seems tht the purchsing of new keybord ide my be something to consider.

Otherwise, I'm not sure wht the best method would be to solve tht.

At least you can see how it's lack makes what you type hard to read at best, nonsensical at worst :)

Yeah good point Bryan. I don't have a clue as to why it would work differently in live chess.

O.o never thought of that, just have an "a" on the clipboard. It's not ideal but it works :)

Better hope you don't lose another key, or the clipboard method is going to become even less efficient. 

Bryan, there are some languages that don't use "a". Perhaps you'd like to learn one?  Then your problem will only be finding opponents who speak the same lingo. No big deal, chess.com has over a million members to choose from...
