Dear Friends,

Most of the time when I logged-in to play live chess, it says: "There are no friends to play live chess at this time." I though that there are always people who are eager to play "live chess". Maybe I am wrong. Also, I noticed that when I challenged players that have a higher rating than I have (1200+) the latter usually abort the game even before it started. It seems to me that these players think very highly of themselves, that it is beyond them to play with somebody with a slightly lower rating. I know from experience that ratings are never constant. Just a few weeks ago, I rated 1400, but since then I have lost 200 points. I am not writing this to complain, but if "live chess" via the computer is to flourish, it is important that arrogance on some of the players be curbed. How else can the weaker players learn unless they play with the stronger much experienced players.

Thank you,

Boynesq

They're not all snobs. At least I don't think so.

Most just don't want to take a hit to their rating if they lose.

Others see liitle chance of a good game by playing a lower-rated player.

There are many good players and nice who will play with you. Don't let the few snobbish players get to you. There are a lot of really nice people here.
