Hmmm that's weird. I would think you wouldn't have your account restricted if you had a membership. When did you get your membership? I'd give you the link to the page where it talks about account restrictions, but I'm not on my pc

The point is to prevent players to abort games too frequently - because they don't want to play Black, because they want to play against 1.e4, because they don't want to play against players with a 'z' in their screen name, etc. - or to let the time run in hopeless positions instead of resigning - because it's better to annoy the opponent and make him wait to win, I suppose.

Either case is considered poor sportsmanship, and it needs many occurences to lead to punishment (restriction).
