What browser are you using?

rishar

google chrome. this started a couple of days ago.

wanmokewan

Tried the usual stuff?  Cleaning history, cache, malware cleaning.

rishar

restored system to 1/20/15. cleaned disk. started to play a bullet game. after a few moves the clock just winds down on my opponent, waiting for his move. finally, up pops a window stating my opponent wins becuase i abandoned the game. this happened several months ago too a couple of times. the game stops, the opponent clock winds down, and the window pops up and tells you that you lost because you abandoned the game. surreal.

Tapani

Similar issues using Opera. It is poor programming / testing by chess.com.

This problem sounds like it's your internet connection and you keep getting disconnected. Firefox is better to use.

rishar

i cleaned the disc, defragged, reinstalled google chrome. still crippled by the opponent piece trailing the move...thanks kindly...i will try internet explorer and maybe firefox. i suspect tapani may be on to the problem.

Using Ccleaner every day, always on private browsing, adblock always on in Firefox, and I always have in live chess issues. Correspondence works, but sometimes it's incredibly slow to switch between games.
What seems to work is if you only have one tab open. Once there is something else running, the site glitches.
Also on Android, when I have anything else open, and return to the app while other ones are running, it glitches out, pieces are missing, or every piece turns into a certain color.

I've never had any problem with Chrome: I've not had any errors with Internet Explorer either, although sometimes it feels a bit slower than Chrome. Been ages since I played here using Firefox, but I think it was more in the Chrome speed category than IE

rishar

internet explorer works with its own set of errors. basically a waste of time. firefox does not download with windows xp. chrome still has crippling errors and another waste of time the last few days. i'll just wait and see with chrome when/if the problems are resolved here. thanks and good luck.

rishar

updated java. helped a little bit but not much. reinstalled chrome but there is still that delay between the opponents move and actually seeing it. not playable.

Tapani

It is a javascript issue. Try another browser: for instance I use Midori when I play live chess.

rishar

Tx Tapani. Midori works pretty good but I get no audio.

I think it's probably your computer. When I make moves on a slow old computer it takes ages to see the peice move and everything. Try upgrading or getting a better computer. Also if you do not actually see the peices when they move... That only happens to me when I am browsing on another tab then my opponent makes his move and I can't see it. It's cause I wasn't on the page.

PS: I also use chrome

rishar

i just tried safari and it works pretty good. only the slightest delay in the sound. when everything is right chrome is super. but usually everything doesn't stay right for long. i'll use safari until that glitches out. tx

P_or

I have the same problem

PPS2

i have the same probleam just go back a move and go back then to the inital position the piec will appear

How about making sure your Java is up to date? https://java.com/en/download/

Tapani

I don't think Java matters.

The site uses javascript (which is built into the browser), and not Java (that requires an external download).
