Ive been playing a lot of live chess for a while now and lately there have been some annoying players who are losing and ends up doing a draw repetition. I'm not saying draw repetitions are bad and shouldn't be used, I'm just saying the players who use it last minute just to avoid losing some points should have a system to know wether it is need to draw or not. What do you guys think?
I think if you're in a winning position you should play to avoid it, and it's a perfectly valid way to avoid being beaten.
I personally think that if it annoys you so much, then make the moves to take away the chance, just as you would any other type of draw. Otherwise its perfectly legitimate to avoid a loss. I'll admit it does suck when you botch a game and give someone a draw like that or any other way, when you are rated as a better player. Its just part of the game, like losing, which is worse.

Um ... if they manage to draw by repetition, then they are not losing.
Some people get confused by being up material and winning. You're only winning if you can checkmate your opponent.
If you can get a draw by repetition in a lost position, by all means take it! There is nothing immoral about it AT ALL.
It is actually all you have to play for at that point, unless we want to start the hope chess debate...I don't want to...I changed my mind.
Is the Caro-Kann the opening I was searching for or should I go for 1...e5 ?
