What happened to automatic abort?
There is a very active forum going on right now "Should we get rid of Abort", and I think you ought to take a look at it.
Thanks, but that thread seems to be about manual aborting, which is a different issue (except in the sense that if the game isn't aborted automatically you have to abort it manually). If automatic aborting is still supposed to happen then I have been encountering a bug.
yes it happen to me. previously the game auto-abort if we get paired with a non-mover, until recently. the only way I can think of is to abort manually, and then get a warning from chess.com..
Thanks guys. Sorry for the late response, but I just wanted to confirm my theory before actually posting it.
What you are experiencing is not a bug, but rather a new feature. Standard games will no longer auto abort. Once a game is started, the clocks will start ticking immediately.
In that case there's a bug in the new feature. I just started a game and played my first move. My opponent did not move and his/her clock did not start. Eventually I had to abort the game manually.
I also have a problem.when i start a game (standard 30 mins) i get aborted.this happened to me four times.Any help?
Until recently, a game was automatically aborted if either player failed to make his first move within a reasonable length of time. Recently I have been finding that, when my opponent doesn't make his first move, nothing happens: I have to abort the game myself. And then I may get the same opponent, still not moving, in the next game. Why is this?
