What is a good time setting?

    I am a beginer so I want a setting that would allow me to recognize tactics and put them to use, but also one that would let me play many games, which do you think is best?

    Ten with some increment could be good too. In general I'd favor some time setting with an increment so the end game isn't reduced to "who can premove faster".
