There are 2 traps that I have come across, and used several times recently. Forget about the exact moves - these ideas seem to crop up quite a lot. They apply pressure on f7

Trap#1

Trap#2

I have used trap #1 in a Sicilian and in a King's Gambit, and trap#2 in a King's Gambit game

Any other traps that you have come across?

I was thinking the same on trap one jon, I would go with Qxg5 if I was black and as for the second...pushing the f pawn in that situation is asking for disaster and they would deserve the whooping....LOL

I like this one personally when I play as black.

After bishop takes pawn, material is still equal. So not really a trap.

or why not 5.Bxf7+ Kxf7 6.Nxe4

that should work

 how about 5.Bxf7+ Kxf7 6.NxNe4 d5.....

although black has counterplay, the king is quite exposed and fritz gives the position as very slightly in whites favor.

I like the e4 opening with bringing the bishop to c4 because in the books I have read on attacking chess it seems to have opportunities for white against f7.

Here's another trap to use if black should do the mistake of protecting his e5-pawn with f6.
