Yes.
That's what White thought as well, as did Black when 15.Bg6+?? was played. However, he decided to play on a few moves...

Interestingly, when White does not play 15.Bg6+?? and instead plays it as a gambit, there are (as of 2001) 7 games, with 4 White wins, 3 draws, and no Black wins!
