Wow... that is a nice puzzle. I admit i had to use a computer to solve it after my workings on my own board went fruitless. Elegant solution.

Very, very nice!  I too had to resort to my computer--which humbled me once again by taking all of 7 seconds to solve it (it's an old micro too--I bought it in 1989).  Very elegant solution (I'd thought for sure it was going to be 1 Rg7...).

1. Rb1 Kg7 (forced)

2.  Qb7+ followed by:

2... Kh6  3. h8=Q(R)#

2... Kf6   3. Rb6#
