I came across this position at school today on an abandoned chess board. I have no idea who was playing, how the game had progressed, or who was to move, but I was intrigued by the position itself. I discovered a strong move for black here, though later computer analysis showed an even better one.

The move I discovered was 1. Rae8!?. I couldn't believe that the computer showed 1. Rfe8! to be even better, even though it allowed 1... Bxf7+.

well...Rae8 doesnt prevent bxf7, in fact it would seem to encourage it...
