This came out of a game I was analysing with Crafty 19.3 while studying the Pirc, thought it might make a good puzzle.  Let me know what you think.

Seriously... I named this before I did today's puzzle.  But it seems so much better now that I have.

Excellent, the one move I didnt get was Nf1+ (first time) but that's because, I believe, there is more than one possible move at that time with the same result.

    2. ... Nf3+ is just as good. Anyway, black is already crushing white at this point, no need to analyze it with Crafty.

there is, it is just to get the knight out of the way

What do you mean "there is"? 2. ... Nf3+ also gets the knight out of the way. Generally, a puzzle should have only one right move at each turn, otherwise it's just guessing.

you're right, I just liked the position and thought it would make nice little puzzle.  this is the first one I ever posted... I promise to never, ever do it again.

People are mean on the interwebs.  Why is 2. Kc2 better than 2. Kc1?  At first glance Kc1 looks better to me.

Kc1 leads to mate in one move less:

I hope you're not suggesting that you'll never post a puzzle again. That doesn't seem to be the right response to a little constructive criticism.

No, I was talking about making a puzzle with more than one solution

    2. QE4+ wins the rook, if you want to toy with your opponent.

I'm glad you did too!  I'm considering posting some puzzles too if the Daily Puzzle was like today's.  Problemists are a prickly lot but I'm sure we can have fun learning.

    Thanks!
