I did this some years ago. I'll have to go dig up my final position, but I think it was something like 20 consecutive checks. Lots of opportunities in pawn promotions.
What chess game can you create that results in the longest chain of checking the opponent's king, by both sides? For example:
This game has three checks in a row. How far can you go?
