It seems like the solution isn't unique. Couldn't white just as well start with 1. h7?

You confused me, for I tried to find a way for white to win. A draw is easy in various ways, white even can lost one or two tempos. f.e. 1. Rxf3 Kxf3 2. h7 Ke4 3. Kc4 Kf5 4. h8D Bxd8 5. Kxc5. Almost every move in the starting position is a draw. Smile
