Let's see if anybody can solve this! Post your answer and the reason why the move is a winning move on this topic, then I'll check it.
Ne5? Threatens the queen. after QxQ Ra8+, BxR, RxB#
Ra8+!! Bxa8 Rxa8+ Kb7 Qa6+ Kc6 Ne5+ Kd6 Rd8+ Rd7 Rxd7#
Ra8+!! Bxa8 Rxa8+ Kd7 Ne5+ Kd6 Rd8+ Rd7 Rxd7#
Ra8+!! Kd7 Ne5+ Kd6 Rd8+ Rd7 Rxd7#
Am I right?
Sorry I forgot about the rook on g7. But the first one is right because after Rxd7 there is Qxd7#
Yes, Cambhawk you are right. How'd you get it so fast?
Heres another one.
Sorry handsome-bob, that's not the answer. The goal is checkmate.
Qd7+
rooperi, sorry, you're not right either. Next time everyone, state the line, not just one move. etc. 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6
1Qd7+(edit), RxQ,2 RxR+, Kb8, 3Rd8+, Nc8, 4RxN+,Ka7,%Ra8#. I think it's all forced?
First puzzle:
Second puzzle:
Would anybody car to explain why mine is wrong?
Rd8+ is met with Nxd8. After that black can play Nd7+ forking the king and queen, but black would still be down a piece.
Ah, Thanks
Yes, amiraz, you are correct for both puzzles. Here is another tricky one.
NOTE: In the diagram, it says "White to move" except it is actually black to move. The goal of this puzzle isn't checkmate, but material gain.
Can anybody solve the puzzle above? Is it too hard? Or should i give a hint?
Ya i think i need a hint anyone else?
HInt anyone?
1. ...Rxb5
2. axb5 Nxd4+
Then:
If 3. Kxd4 Rc4# (main line)
If 3. Kb4 Rc4+ 4.Ka3 Nxb5+ 5. Kb3 Bc2+ 6. Ka2 Ra4# (see move list)
If 3. Kd2 Nb3+ 4. Ke2 Rc2+ 5. Ke1 Nxa1 (see move list)
I found the obvious move then looked for variations to see if it was correct.
