I'm not saying these are White's best moves but these are what he played.
If you can find a way to save white's queen (without losing the game) then please post it.
3. Qd2 looks better.
Yes, I agrree, but as I said these are the moves from the actual game. You can see Qd2 variations in the move list. It still doesn't work to save black.
knightofcrashtest: 1. ...Nh2+ doesn't quite work. If 4. Be2 then white can be saved by 4. ... Bxe2+ 5. Kxe2 Nd3+ 6. Kxd3 f=Q+which I don't see a forced mate from there AND white has recovered material to just being down a pawn. Also for the variation 3. Qd2 white can play 9. Kf3 Re1 10.Rxe1 fxe1=Q which still gives black overwhelming advantage but doesn't mate immediattly as shown here. With the variation 3. ... the mate isn't forced because white can sac the queen and take black's f pawn with 5. Qxf2 prolonging the game.
This is my puzzle, hope you enjoy it.
Nice. I tried to cover all possibiilities so to prove that mate can be forced from this position but had trouble coming up with something for 3. Ke1 and 3. Kd1
hi every one this is my puzzle for today
EASY Mate in 3
in black's perspective in one move white's king is checkmated.
do you know which move it is? yes it is Q to C5
Qxc5 isn't checkmate white still has Kd2 if you added another white piece to the d2 square then yes that would be true but as it is now if it was black's move Qxc5 is not mate in 1. On top of that at the beginning of the puzzle white's queen is guarding the c5 pawn. As for the puzzle itself: Good job.
Mate in 3
there are a lot of possibilities but this is the one i like. Hope you enjoy it.
This is in fact Easy Mate in 2. Who is stopping Queen to reach g4?
1. Qf4+ Kh5 2. Qg4#
I got: 1. Qc8+(Qe6+ works too) f5 ( 1. ... Kf4 2. Rc4+ e4 3. Rxe4#) (1. ... Kh4 2. Rc4+ e4 3. Rxe4#) 2. Rc4+ e4 3. Rxe4#
With your solution it's not a mate in 3 because black can move 1. ... Kh4! 2. Rc4+ e4 3. Rxe4+ g4 4. Rxg4+ hxg4 5. Qxg4# this is an example I found for 1. ... Kh4 but I can't find quicker than a mate in 5 with 1. h3.
Don't play him (engine suspected)
