White to mate in 18 moves, moving the rook only once.

mate comes in many fewer moves when the rook is NOT glued to the board. 

(though I understand that defeats the whole purpose.)

uhhh you gave the black king an out at one point, he could have gotten off the back rank and forced you to move your rook lol.
