    7...Qc3...nobody would do that- completely unrealistic.

    8...rg7... same as 7...Qc3.

    9...rb1... same as the others.

    without black throwing away all 3 of his / her pieces, this puzzle doesn't work.

    Yeah I'd have to agree with dc1985. Black is throwing away his pieces although they delay the mate, I'd also say that black's king would have done better than just stand on the eighth rank (maybe?).

    What's your alternative to avoiding mate on the next move then genius?

    The player needs the b rook to gaurd against queen c1+ and lots of complications afterword.

    Queen cant get to C1 do you mean Rc1?

    excuse me 8 Qg6 doesnt make scense because of the Rook. so i dont know why 7. cant be Rb7
