Why doesn't 1 Ng5 work? It threatens Bxf6 followed by Qh7 mate and if it's taken white plays Bxb7 which seems to win the exchange. If ...Bxg2 then Bxf6 threatening the queen so he either loses the queen or gets mated.

edit...actually simply bxg2 and if bxf6 then hxg5 and you have simply gone down a piece

Good, simple puzzle - as most of the moves were forcing.

If 1. Ng5, 1...Qc7! prevents some material loss.

Black's queen is attacked after Bxf6! After ...Bxg2 Bxf6 hxg5, I simply take his queen.
